You can't describe what building your own canoe or kayak feels like. I have built both over and over again and I'm hooked.
I love the process at every stage and when its complete the awe of it all begins again starting with the maiden voyage. The water is more beautiful, the birds sing better and the fishing doesn't have to end with the biggest catch. You get that feeling you imagine you would have if you created fire from mere sticks rubbing together. You have built something that you can take pride in every time you look at it. There are few things in life that maintain true value, this is one of them.
When I began this I only had a book. Nobody to show me how to do it and it was so simple. The hardest part of building cedar strip canoes or kayaks is locating the supplies and the time to mill up lumber which is where I come in. I have exausted the resorces to come up with a kit that meets all your needs at a price that you yourself could not beat if you chose to do a single build. These prices are for the cove and bead strips:
2'-6' = $.40 per lineal foot
6'-14'= $.45 per lineal foot
14'-16'=$.50 per lineal foot
16'-20'= $.55 per lineal foot
Yellow cedar accent strips:
2'-6'= $.70 per lineal foot
6'-20'= $.85 per lineal foot
